Marib, Yemen – 2023
The Smile Development Foundation welcomed a delegation from the Algerian White Hands Association during 2023, led by the Executive Director of the Association and his Deputy. The delegation was received by the Secretary-General of the Foundation, where they discussed a large number of projects and possible future
interventions, as well as the necessity of Algeria and Algerians supporting their brothers in Yemen, and exploring local partnership opportunities with the Foundation.
The meeting began with a warm welcome from the Secretary-General to the visiting delegation, praising the fraternal relations between the Algerian and Yemeni peoples, and the humanitarian role of the White Hands Association in supporting humanitarian and developmental causes. The Secretary-General also provided a detailed presentation on the activities and current projects of the Foundation, highlighting the challenges they face in providing support to the most needy groups.
The Executive Director of the White Hands Association emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between humanitarian organizations to achieve common goals. He expressed the Association’s readiness to provide necessary support for development projects in Yemen, pointing out the significant potential for future interventions that can be implemented in partnership with the Smile Development Foundation.
In addition, the White Hands Association funded a package of projects that were implemented by the Foundation during the delegation’s visit and hosting period. These projects included providing various humanitarian aid, improving infrastructure in displacement camps, and providing essential services to vulnerable groups in the community.
At the end of the visit, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise to achieve sustainable development and serve the Yemeni community. They agreed to continue meetings and dialogue to identify practical steps for implementing joint projects in the near future.
